JOURNEY began as an outreach ministry to widows, but has now expanded to offer all ladies without partners opportunities for fellowship and mission. Each month there is a social event, held on the third Wednesday of the month. Meeting sometimes in the church Fellowship Hall and sometimes at other locations, the events always begin with a welcome, prayer, and devotions. The women share good food and wonderful fellowship. Sometimes there is a speaker on a topic of interest, and there is always fun.

Our newest ministry is the Clothes Depot. Its mission is to provide clothing for all ages at no cost to those with limited financial resources.

Other outreach ministries in our community include supporting the Wapello Ministerial Association, Camp Wyoming, Habitat House, and Angel Tree. We have an annual Souper Bowl Sunday when we bring cans of soup as well as monetary offerings for the Wapello Food Pantry. Along with other churches in the community, we take turns delivering Home Delivered Meals in the community, and leading worship services at Wapello Nursing & Rehab Center. Together with the Methodist church, we hold Vacation Bible School each summer. As part of the Wapello Ministerial Association, we take part in ecumenical services at special times during the year.

Outreach beyond our local community

These include sending care packages to members of the military and their families, and participating in Operation Christmas Child.

Through the Presbyterian Mission Agency, we contribute to the annual Christmas Joy Offering and One Great Hour of Sharing. When special needs arise, we support efforts such as tornado relief in Joplin, MO.
