Scriptures for Sunday May 7

Ephesians 4:31-32

Throughout the Bible, we are called to be like God, who created us in His image. God could have been harsh with us, giving us only what we deserved. But in His grace He forgave us, and we are likewise to forgive others, rather than wanting to see them hurt just as they hurt us.

Matthew 18:21-35

What Paul gave as a command about forgiveness, Jesus expresses in a story. One who has been forgiven a great debt, then turns around and refuses to forgive a much smaller debt, shows that he does not really appreciate the grace he had received.
